Monthly/weekly hours: 75 hours bi-weekly
Reporting to the Manager, Facilities Management, the Maintenance Engineer repairs, maintains and operates on a rotating shift schedule, the Whitehorse General Hospital premises and auxiliary buildings heating/air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, incineration, fire protection, boilers, and Oxygen concentration, medical gas and other related systems, equipment, and services.
The following are knowledge and skills required for this position:
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical repair tools and techniques;
- Knowledge of welding;
- knowledge of electrical;
- Knowledge of Carpentry;
- Knowledge of plumbing;
- Knowledge of HVAC systems;
- Ability to plan job tasks and determine parts required;
- Ability to utilize knowledge of welding, electrical, carpentry, plumbing and HVAC to perform maintenance and repair functions on hospital equipment.
The successful candidate will have 3 to 4 years of related experience and a minimum of a 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate.
