Yukon Hospital Corporation, in conjunction with Canada Summer Jobs program (CSJ) is pleased to offer a summer student opportunity with our Medical and Surgical wards.

The student under the supervision of the Clinical Care Manager, Clinical Nurse Leaders, or Registered Nurses/Licensed Practical Nurses will:

Work tasks and responsibilities:

Initiating and participating in nursing care planning; promoting harmonious relationships with coworkers, patients, families and hospital staff; performing nursing interventions as outlined in the job description; using the nursing process and physician`s orders in conformance within procedures.

Post-Secondary education:

Individuals who are enrolled in post secondary education in Registered Nursing are encouraged to apply for this position. 

 

To be eligible to participate in the CSJ initiative, individuals must:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
  • have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act ; and,
  • be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

Note:
Please note that the student will participate in a rotational schedule.
