Orientation

Whitehorse General Hospital is pleased to offer a comprehensive orientation to all new employees. New employees attend one of the monthly General Orientation Days where they are provided with a general introduction to the YHC: its structure, its programs, and its operating policies. The orientation includes an introduction to key people and components of mandatory education. This well-received program welcomes new employees into the YHC team environment.

Each manager organizes a departmental orientation, including the technical or job specific skills required on the unit.

Orientation is also provided to computers and the MEDITECH computer system used by the hospital. This training is individualized and frequently one-on-one. The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is available via a computer module or hard copy study material and invigilated exam.
