Whitehorse - The Yukon Hospital Corporation has been selected from over 2,000 companies and organizations as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for 2012. This is the second year that the Yukon Hospital Corporation has made the Top 100 Employers list.
The award - now entering its 13th year - is an annual competition held by Mediacorp Canada to recognize the country's best places to work and the organizations that lead their sectors in the attraction and retention of employees.
"We are honoured to be recognized again as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers," said Yukon Hospital Corporation CEO Joe MacGillivray. "This distinction is a direct reflection of the quality and dedication of our employees and medical staff, and they are to be commended for the outstanding service that they provide to all of our patients and clients. We also see this recognition as an acknowledgement that we are moving forward on the right course.
Mediacorp Canada selected the Yukon Hospital Corporation based on performance measures in the workplace, the work and social atmosphere, benefits, vacation, communications, performance management, training and skills development, and community involvement.
"On behalf of the Yukon Hospital Corporation Board of Trustees, I extend congratulations to all our employees, as this is their award," said Yukon Hospital Corporation Board of Trustees Chair, Craig Tuton. "All Yukoners can be proud of the high quality of acute care services and the dedicated personnel working at the YHC.
The Yukon Hospital Corporation joins the Bank of Canada, Bombardier Aerospace, McGill University, The Hospital for Sick Kids, Procter & Gamble, the Office of the Auditor General of Canada, and Westjet in this distinction.
