Thomson Centre

Earlier, the entire building was retrofitted from the outside, including being re-insulated, re-roofed and re-sided. Renovations will be phased in with the initial construction phase accommodating up to 29 beds.

This fall, continuing care beds will be opened and operated by YTG Health and Social Services under a leasehold agreement.

This wonderful structure with its open spaces, natural lighting, attractive views of the Yukon River, and cosy outdoor areas will be again available for Yukoners who require continuing care.

YHC will also continue to operate a number of services in the Thomson Centre including Therapy Services, Diabetes Education Centre, and Community Dieticians. As well the Yukon Hospital Foundation and Red Cross Medical Equipment Loan Service are located in this building.

How will you benefit?

Returning the building to its original purpose is the most efficient use of public funds. Yukoners requiring care will have access to an attractive living option while still remaining in the Yukon.
