Laboratory Services

Located on main level

The Dawson City Community Hospital lab performs a variety of routine, urgent and emergency testing that support your caregivers by helping to diagnose and determine the best course of treatment. All lab tests must be ordered by a physician.

The DCCH lab is located on the main level of the hospital and appointments can be made at the Admitting & Discharge desk Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Most outpatient lab apppointments are scheduled between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., but individual circumstances may be accommodated. For emergency patients and inpatients, a combined lab/x-ray technologist is on-site from Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The DCCH lab may also collect specimens for all other blood tests that need to be sent to the lab at Whitehorse General Hospital or to a facility outside the territory for processing.
