Whitehorse Community Thrift Store Donation – $75,000 for Point-of-Care Ultrasound Machine
A generous $75,000 donation from the Whitehorse Community Thrift Store has provided a point-of-care ultrasound machine for the Maternity Unit at Whitehorse General Hospital (WGH).
Ultrasound imaging is a critical tool in maternal and neonatal care, allowing healthcare teams to make real-time assessments with greater accuracy and efficiency. With this advanced system available at the bedside, care teams can respond faster, improve patient safety, and support better outcomes for expectant families.
This donation has made a lasting impact, ensuring patients receive high-quality maternity care close to home. We deeply appreciate the Whitehorse Community Thrift Store’s commitment to healthcare in the Yukon.
Canada Cycles for Kids Donation – $40,000 for Pediatric Nurse Training
Thanks to a $40,000 donation from Canada Cycles for Kids, nurses at Whitehorse General Hospital have received specialized pediatric training to enhance care for Yukon’s youngest patients.
Ongoing education is vital to ensuring healthcare teams stay up to date with the latest skills and best practices. This funding has supported advanced training modules, strengthening our ability to provide safe, high-quality care for children.
We are incredibly grateful for this generous support, which is making a meaningful difference for patients, families, and hospital teams.
