After a nationwide, competitive recruitment and selection process, which involved significant input from employees and partners, the Yukon Hospitals’ Board of Trustees has appointed Tiffany Boyd as Chief Executive Officer.
Ms. Boyd’s appointment is effective October 14 and comes at a pivotal time for the hospitals, as we continue to provide critical hospital services, respond to growing pressures, and start the journey towards integration with system partners into a health authority in order to better meet Yukoners’ health needs.
A born and raised Yukoner, Tiffany is passionate about and grounded in this place, its communities and people, and a commitment to its health and wellness. For nearly two decades, she has held progressive senior and executive leadership roles in the Yukon’s non-profit sector and public service, with a focus on people, partnerships, capacity building and sustainability.
Tiffany established herself as a trusted and respected partner, while navigating significant system challenges. Most recently, as Yukon’s Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services, she advanced system wide initiatives as well as plans to address pressures within the hospitals. During this time, Tiffany’s key priorities focused on health human resources, health authority legislation, and overall health service improvement and sustainability.
“Over the last several months, the Board’s Selection Committee asked many of our teams and partners what they expected from a new CEO,” says Pamela Hine, Chair of the hospitals’ Board of Trustees. “We heard of the desire for strong values, leadership skills and people-focus coupled with an understanding of our communities, quality care, the health system and hospital operations. Continuing our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation and supporting strong communication and relationships within the hospital, its teams and our communities is also critically important.”
“By all of these measures, Tiffany is the right leader to guide and support the organization as we continue to provide critical health services while navigating a dynamic environment and period of transformation. We welcome her to the team and look forward to working with her to continue to provide safe and excellent hospital care.”
Yukon Hospitals’ current CEO, Jason Bilsky, will retire in October after leading the organization through a decade of significant growth and evolution. “On behalf of the whole Board and all hospital teams and partners, thank you, Jason for your service and commitment to people, health care and community.”
