Telehealth

Telehealth uses videoconferencing technology to provide healthcare services and education to clients and health care professionals in their own community. The service is free and available in all Yukon communities, linking patients with clinicians at a distance through a secure network. The service is currently being used for:

  • Continuing education for health care professionals
  • Therapy services, including physio, occupational and speech
  • Discharge planning
  • Family visits
  • Emergency radiology consults (digital pictures of x-rays are sent to emergency room physicians to assist with management or triage decisions)
  • Diabetes education and nutrition counseling and education

Telehealth is available by appointment at all three Yukon hospitals. For more information, please contact the Telehealth Coordinator with Yukon Health and Social Services at 867-667-8033 or email telehealth@gov.yk.ca
