What is the wait time tracker?
Yukon Hospitals is excited to launch a new wait time tracker for walk in services at Whitehorse General Hospital (WGH).
This tracker, located at the top of our website, provides you with the current expected wait times at WGH.
Right now, the wait time tracker is tracking wait times for our outpatient lab, where you go for tests like blood work. We plan to add wait times for other walk in services like the Emergency Department and X-ray soon.
Why are we launching this?
We have heard from the public that knowing this information before coming to the hospital would be valuable. Our teams are excited to be able to share this information. Please do not delay receiving the hospital care you need. If you need urgent care, go to the hospital. Always call 911 in an emergency.
This wait time tracker will support you to make informed decisions when you come to the hospital. Walk in wait times can fluctuate quickly and we want to ensure you have the information you need to better prepare for and plan your hospital visit.
We are committed to the people we care for and our communities. Through this commitment, we will listen and engage people as partners in their care. This wait time tracker is a direct result of listening to the people we care for. During our annual public meeting in October 2025, we received feedback that it would be helpful to know wait times for services before coming to the hospital. Now, we are putting that feedback into action.

Along with our wait times, we track other things to keep an eye on how we are doing. Click here to see our quarterly balanced score card which gives you updated and historical info on things like wait times, occupancy rates, quality and safety metrics.
Let us know if your “Happy or Not” with your wait time! WGH has introduced a “Happy or Not” feedback system in the outpatient lab. After waiting for bloodwork and lab tests, you can now share your feelings instantly and anonymously about your wait time. This helps us better understand and improve your experience.
