Orthopaedic surgeons treat patients with acute or chronic musculoskeletal (bones and joints) conditions to help regain function or avoid pain or disability.

The surgeon will diagnose and provide treatment options based on his/her assessment of the affected area with the support of X-rays, CT (computed tomography) scans or MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scans.

Visiting Orthopaedic Surgeons

Each visiting orthopaedic surgeon has specific expertise, which focuses on certain conditions or bone structures. This means patients may be put on a wait list to see a particular surgeon. These visiting specialists also divide their time between the operating room and specialists clinic.
